What are Exosomes?
Exosomes are a precursor of Stem Cells and have 380 growth factors, 30 forms of collagen and seven active ingredients. They are minute, active molecules that act as natural messengers in the body. Released by various cells, they contain proteins, nucleic acids, and lipids, entering recipient cells to deliver messages that influence cellular behaviour and promote healing and regeneration. Once they have been absorbed into the skin, they switch on the cell’s fibroblasts to produce up to 600% more collagen* and 300% more elastin*.

What do Exosomes Do?
Criticial roles of exosomes include:
● DNA Damage Repair: Exosomes aid in repairing damaged DNA, which is crucial for cellular health.
● Cellular Mechanisms: Essential for various cellular functions which ensure optimal cell operation.
● Biological Ageing: Impacting fundamental ageing processes, potentially rejuvenating older cells.
Why are Exosomes Important?
● Cellular Regeneration: Studies demonstrate that replacing aged plasma with younger plasma can significantly enhance cell regeneration, with exosomes playing a pivotal role in promoting tissue healing and rejuvenation.
● Immune Modulation: Exosomes help regulate the immune system, maintaining balance to protect against diseases.
● Tissue Regeneration: They are key in renewing and repairing tissue, which is essential for maintaining health and vitality.
● Hair Follicle Regeneration: Enhancing cellular communication and delivering growth factors that stimulate hair growth and improve hair density.
What are the Different Types of Exosomes?
In the clinic, we use two different types of Exosomes – Bovine and Plant-based.
Plant-based exosomes from the brand ExoIE are suitable for all skin concerns including acne,
rosacea and lightly aged or damaged skin. Applied topically, they can be used before any
treatment, enhancing results by opening the skins channels to allow products to penetrate
deeper. Patients have also reported a decrease in discomfort during treatments such as
Sofwave, when plant-based Exosomes have been used.
Exosomes can help with skin concerns including:
● Lines & Wrinkles
● Rosacea
● Acne & Acne Scarring
● Pigmentation
● Enlarged pores
● Poor skin quality (dull, dry, rough skin)
