Cellulite treatment: Did you know, up to 95% of women in the UK suffer with cellulite?

If you are someone who suffers with cellulite, you’ll know that historically, it’s something that has been fairly impossible to get rid of.

Over the years, there have been some weird and at times, downright daft suggestions on how to reduce cellulite, with at-home-use rolling contraptions, fad diets, creams and lotions that make false claims on how they can penetrate the skin and get rid of that orange peel appearance that so commonly appears on the thighs and buttocks.

The truth is that most women suffer with some form of cellulite and what’s more, you don’t have to be overweight to experience it.

Cellulite treatment with BTL Unison

At Dr Preema’s clinic here in Marylebone, London, we have found a device which tackles all 5 causes of cellulite with immediately visible results, that last! The device is called BTL Unison™ and is made by one of the most reputable medical aesthetic device companies on the planet, BTL Aesthetics.

BTL Unison works by combining high-powered, radiofrequency energy alongside strong, targeted pressure energy. This simultaneous action of both energies delivers the reduction of unsightly dimples and smooths skin tone and texture.

The device is not limited to BMI or skin type, which means that everyone is a candidate. Even better, our cellulite treatment is non-invasive with zero downtime, so you can continue your day after treatment as if nothing had happened and no one will be the wiser!

Sound too good to be true?

Cellulite Treatment – The Five Causes

There are 5 causes of skin dimpling; the order in which they occur is

1 – Enlarged Fat Chambers, which push through to collagen

2 – Damaged Collagen Fibres – caused by the increase in fat

3 – Loss of Skin Elasticity – lost when collagen breaks down

4 – Poor Blood Flow/Circulation – as skin becomes lax

5 – Metabolic Waste Accumulation – waste cannot leave via circulation

It’s easy to see why cellulite arises, and the Unison project aimed to treat these by stimulating collagen production and gently heating excess fat.

BTL Unison – The In-depth Study

To find out if BTL had really hit the jackpot with Unison, a clinical study was painstakingly carried out by Klaus Fritz, Carmen Salavastru and Magdalina Gyurova in various research centres across Europe.

This study investigated non-invasive cellulite treatments based on the simultaneous application of monopolar radiofrequency (RF) and targeted pressure energy in BTL Unison to evaluate efficacy and safety and to see whether simultaneous application had any benefits in non-invasive cellulite treatments.

BTL Unison – Results of Study

‘Studies showed that the clinical improvement averaged 54%. Cellulite was reduced in 93% of cases, while 73% of patients showed very good or excellent improvement, with most significant improvement seen in patients with moderately severe cellulite.

The safety and efficacy of BTL Unison™ was also scrutinised:

‘The application is effective and safe for treating cellulite. The level of clinical improvement after 4-6 sessions is comparable to results reported after 6-20 sessions in studies on stand-alone RF/laser/targeted pressure energy devices’.

At the Dr Preema London Clinic, we pride ourselves on selecting not only highly-effective treatments for a variety of skin and body concerns, but to ensure that they meet the highest-standards of safety.
